Hi there

My old PC runs windows XP and i want to know the safest way to clean the ddrive, to reduce the chances of anyone getting old bank info, details etc if i sell it on. Questions from a Non Techie.....

Is it enough to use the wipe clean space option after all the files have been normally deleted?

Or can i literally wipe the whole hard drive using Eraser and then re install windows xp? If so how do you go about this with Eraser? What do you do first?

Cheers For any help

Depends on what you want to do with your computer. How sensitive your information is. It really depends on yourself.

You need DBAN.

As of now, CCleaner is the best tool; after the release of version 6 I'll start working on 6.1 which will allow a similar functionality.
