Erasing Secure Digital (SD) Cards

I am using SD and Compact Flash for data storage and transfer between pc and etc. etc......I have used Eraser for years and have never had this problem:

When I go to erase any files on my SD card it gets halfway through a wipe and shuts down my Sandisk USB 2.0 6-in-one Reader/Writer. The write protect is not on. I have no idea why this occurs.

How DO you securely wipe files from an SD or Compact Flash card?

Thanx!

It would seem that the card cannot handle a constant data transfer.
i.e the eraser is somehow overloading the buffers.

What happens if you fill the card with data file and then try to read it all back at once.?
