How Erase Boot Drive?

How can I user Eraser to erase everything that is on the primary drive in a laptop?

I've tried booting from the a Win7 install DVD and using the pre-execution command-line to run a copy of Eraser from a USB key but it fails to start the app. I had copied Eraser from %PROGRAMFILES% where it is installed on my desktop. I've tried both 32 and 64 bit versions in the corresponding Win7 32/64 environments.

AFAIK, in the preinstallation environment, .NET won't run. Eraser's written in .NET, so unfortunately that'll be a dead end.

I think that other PE's allow .NET apps to run though, I'm not sure.
