While running the Eraser to clean up unused disk space, the PC (Win 7) froze up displaying a white screen causing me to turn the power off. Upon switching it on, the PC justs beeps twice and is absolutely blank. Is all data on my laptop lost or is there any way I can cause my machine to boot up normally again...Please help.

This sounds like Eraser managed to tip a near-failing drive to failure point. Eraser does stress disks quite a bit, so if the drive was about to fail, Eraser could have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

If you have got data on the drive, you may have to find a commercial disk recovery company to see what can be salvaged. I don't know if they can be successful though. This may however be a good time to see for yourself if Eraser works (Garrett's testing shows that it does, but nothing beats physical evidence), though if you were in the middle of an erasure not all data may have been erased.
