Hi,

At the end of erasing process for unused partition, I met the following messages:
- Could not make the temporary file
- Error: Failed to erase file names from drive H:\, don't know why exactly.

I tested it on Vista Enterprise edition.

Hi Nobelrichy

I am sorry you are having trouble with Eraser.

Have you disabled UAC ? Instructions here.

Do you have the necessary permissions for that drive ?

Could the drive be damaged ?

How is the drive formatted ?

Is the drive attached physically to your computer or is it over a network ?

> Yes, I had disabled it after reading that instruction you mentioned before.

> Yes, I have it. Erasing process was started normally.
> That message appeared around the end of ersaing.

Could the drive be damaged ?
> It's very normal status. I tried scanning sectors and found it's fine.

> It's formated as NTFS.

Hi Nobelrichy

Thank you for coming back.

Is the drive encrypted or compressed ?

Could anything have blocked access to it part way through the process ? Back up software, anti virus etc ?

I know you said the drive is NTFS but is the partition you are erasing formatted ?

If there is none of your data on the partition could you format it and erase the free space again to test please ?

I assume you have the latest version of Eraser installed.

Thanks.

Hi,
.
After formating the partition it was completed successfully.
But I tried it again on C drivce and get the similiar message as the following:

Information:
Statistics:
Erased area = 2852 MB
Cluster tips = 0 bytes
Data written = 2852 MB
Write time = 130.89 s
Write speed = 22313 kB/s

Failures:
Failed: C:\~ERAFSWD.TMP\AVF80007.YOO

But I couldn't find that folder and file.
And I tried to recover it using the commercial recovery program, but there's nothing at all.
