What are the default parameters for a DOS freespace run?

What are the default options when I run a dos secure delete? How can I change the options to a different method?

Here is an example:
eraserd -folder C:\RECYCLER -subfolders

== I can't tell what method of secure deletion was used.

Also if I do the following:

eraserd -disk C:\
I know it wipes the freespace - but with which method? Does it also clear the directory entries?
