Description
One for Eraser V6.3 I think.
Trivial request again but I think it would be nice for Eraser V6 to be able to wipe CD / DVD’s. I understand that CD / DVD media is very cheap nowadays and should be shredded but it would be nice to be able to claim that Eraser can overwrite ALL media.
I wonder if the standard windows CD / DVD writing driver could be used by Eraser thus saving a lot of coding work ?

Thank you for your reply.
I was actually thinking about this being done by Eraser as Eraser can produce random data to overwrite with and so help Truecrypt RAW CD / DVD plausible deniability. Simply formatting wouldn’t help in this case, but thanks for mentioning it.
Would it be very difficult to add this feature Joel ?

Actually CDs can be erased using any old CD formatting tool and no remnants can be found. CDs (rewritable ones anyway) use organic dyes which I believe do not leave traces and therefore cannot be recovered and depolarised...
Eraser uses Windows to write to drives, so you can erase drives which Windows can write to. Certain types of CD drivers will allow you to do that: such as Vista's or InCD's
