    How to get the Erase link inside the Recycle bin to work

    In a previous version I was able to right click on the Recycle bin icon on my desktop and the drop down menu contained the "erase" option. Right now the erase option is greyed and thus unavailable for use. How do i change that for it to work? Thank you kindly
