    The best option is to download dban and burn it to CD, then boot from that and wipe the drive. Running eraser on the C drive gets messy as it cannot erase files in use so you cannot fully wipe the C drive.

    Is this PC your or a corporate PC? Have you turned off UAC? Run chkdsk on the drive and see if there are any issues. Also check the permissions settings on any file you want to erase - it could be the file permissions have been messed up preventing you deleting the files.

    Completed With Error

    Try running eraser as administrator - as in 'Run as Adminsitrator' in explorer. Eraser is still being maintained but nothing new has been added so no new releases, everything is pretty stable.
