    Yes it does, I used to just delete them which just puts them in the HDs freespace or if the application lets me..put them in the recycle bin then delete them. Now I use Eraser, I use the "Explorer" feature to navigate to the Quarantine file click select all and erase and poof whatever...

    Why does the fat32 partition showup as freespace if it stores you backup data. If the partition has data on it, It can't be freespace.

    Re: will erasing free space speed up access on the hard driv You will be removing every file that you deleted, and those files can be recovered with a simple undelete utility, making your computer less of a security risk. HD search times will improve, the HD will be able to breath better.
