    Most likley the file was partially wiped and got deleted by the OS. If it had already completed some passes of the file then you are probably ok. Otherwise you need to do a freespace erase. Garrett

    This will be looked into. Do you mean it says it is erased and just does nothing or is it that the file still exists within the Data area/MFT? The size 1k,2k etc are you certain it was not marked as readonly or system? Garrett

    Whe pagefile wipe just zeros the file it does not remove it. I also suggest you make the file a fixed size to stop it growing/shrinking and littering the drive with leaked data. If you have sufficient RAM you can turn off the file all together. Garrett

    are you sure you wiped all partitions? This may be imaginary data generated by the restoration utility. What was in the files. Garrett

    You can ignore the assertion failures. Look in options.cpp line 55 loadLibrarySettings(LibrarySettings *pls) The key library stores the data. DEFAULT_FILE_METHOD_ID - This is just for when there is no custom methods. Internal default bookmark. Garrett

    Eraser 5.8 should not wipe the restore points. Have you tried 5.8? Also for the entropy polling I have made some changes. Have had no feed back on if it worked or not. Garrett

    With modern drives the memory layers are getting thinner and more compact. The gutmann method was for drives of an older design. These days (1-paranoid) pseudorandom passes might be better. Garrett
