The problem you have relates to the windows installer. If you download and install eraser again. Then reboot and goto add/remove programs and uninstall from there. what happens? Garrett

V5.84 will run from a usb key if you just copy the files there. For the shell extension you just need to register / unregister eraserext.dll Garrett

most probably you are trying to do a 35 pass type erase whan 1 pass is sufficient.

mmm tested on VISTA64 can you find eraser.dll in the system directory? To test the validity of the install right click on it and see if te digital signature is valid. Garrett
