    Eraser starting up on reboot despite no scheduled task

    I had this problem, I got rid of the problem by deleting the task from my auto-run start up. I used the 'autoruns' software to do this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 63902.aspx Maybe my experience was also a Vista UAC problem, which should be classed as a 'bug' in itself.

    On no, if this is true, can anyone advise how to guarantee I can erase these index.dat files, so they can't be undeleted? How can I check to see if the content of the deleted index.dat files can be seen again? Any advice greatly appreciated
