My harddrive is down in my laptop (HP Compaq nx9000) the second time. The first time I repaired it using DBAN (don't know the version). This time DBAN doesn't work because of an error caused by bad sectors.
I read somewhere among the posts here that one should recover bad sectors prior to running DBAN. Is there a software (preferably freeware) other than SpinRite that can handle it well enough?
