Can't cancel task. Killing process doesn't get rid of it. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't get rid of it.

Currently installed version: Eraser 6.2.0.2993 on Windows 11.

A task seemed to be stuck running forever. I selected cancel task, and there was no obvious effect. I used the Windows task manager to end the Eraser process. I started Eraser back up again--and the task was still there, seeming to run--but never actually erasing anything.

I switched my machine off, and restarted it. Activated Eraser, and the task was still on the task list, running--but not erasing anything.

I uninstalled Eraser. I verified that the Eraser isntall folder was gone. Downloaded version 6.2.0.2933 (not sure what I had before). Ran Eraser. There was the task, still, running but seeming not to actually erase anything.

I can't use Eraser right now because any other task I give it shows up as queued but never executes because it's stuck on this one task that will neither succeed nor die.

Any idea what I should be doing here?
