How long should it take to nuke a 40mg hard disk.

Also is there some physical method to quickly wipe many drives at a time, perhaps some magnet type device.

I don't think there are too many degaussers (that's what they call the devices) for sale capable of completely erasing a modern hard drive. It would require a very strong magnetic field, say around 1T. I mean, it can be done, but at least I haven't found any that normal people can afford.
