DBAN on a Dell Dimension 4700

I am currently running DBAN on a Dell Dimension 4700. So far it looks like it will complete 1% every hour. That I'm okay with. I just basically wanted to take some time (since I have a lot apparently) to congratulate Darik on a superb product. The reasoning for me running DBAN is I am "renting" my computer from Rent A Center and the hard drive went bad so before I give it back to them to keep I am erasing the data. I originally tried to format the hard drive via the Dell CD and also to install an OS on top of the current one, but neither would recognize the hard drive. Also the BIOS would even show that no hard drive was present. I was surprised that DBAN even found the hard drive, but it did. Thank you very much for creating a program that is totally free and will even wipe DoD for free. I'd like to contribute to the code, but I'm not sure what would be preferred updates or new features for it. Really long winded, but in short. Thanks.

Beta Release

I will try the beta release and post my results here. I am not complaining about the time it is taking. I'm just happy that it actually works.

Here are my system specs straight off of the Dell site. Remember it is a Dell Dimension 4700.
