Erase fragments/useless data on c: drive

I have an external HDD that I'd like to remove all old data from, but still be able to use it for backups after this. In other words, I don't really want to wipe it completely, just erase all the old files so it looks completely clean.

I would also like to do that to my c: drive: Erase all old internet history, file fragments, restore points etc. What's the best way to do this? Does Eraser support this sort of thing?

Not at the moment. Eraser will only get rid of data marked as deleted, which your cache, temporary files etc are not.

For the external drive, yes that's possible. If you're using 6.0, just quick format the drive and run an unused space erase. That should be sufficient.
