Eraser and image files

Hello all

I want to create an image file of my hard drive to use as a recovery disc and I intend to use eraser on the free space prior to the creation of the disc.

Will the image file be larger if I use eraser?

I'm thinking that random numbers are written to the HD when using eraser and therefore the image will not compress so good.

Open up eraser, and go to the preferences\erasing.

Create a new erasing type and use a pattern with all zeroes. This will allow you to compress your disk image alot more than if you used any of the other wiping methods
