Eraser and Windows "disk full" message

Using Eraser, Windows don't display a "disk full" message at the end of erasing free space. It used to, but not anymore. Does it mean that free space isn't overwritten properly?
Using Directory Snoop (Briggs Softworks) I always get the "disk full" message but not when using Eraser. I have tried versions 5.3, 5.6 and 5.7 and it makes no difference. My OS is Windows 98.

If Eraser fails to overwrite the free disk space, it will give you an error message at the end.

OK, thanks. I got no error message, so I guess there's no problem then.
