When erasing the free space on a 250 GB external HDD connected by a USB port, eraser 5.8 completes, but gives these messages: "Failed to create a temporary file or directory. Erasing was not completed." and "Failed to erase file names from drive G:\, don't know why exactly." I am running Windows XP Prof. I have given 'Everyone' access right to the HDD. I moved the data off it, reformatted it, and moved the data back. That made no difference: I still get the same error messages.
