eraser trashed an entire partition

Let eraser run on all unused disk space, when it finished, every file on one of my partitions came up as truncated and unrecoverable.

Eurgh... That makes no sense. I've got 2 partitons, and that has never happened to me before.
 
It makes sense, but I don't know why it happened. All the folders and files were renamed with random characters, not even english. When scandisk tried to recover, it just got worse (I figured *that* would happen, but everything was trash anyway, so nothing to lose)
