Erasing after deletion

Ok, I've deleted some files which I now want erased from the system. from what i understand you use erase the unused space on disk drive C

First up, am I right so far?
Secondly, will this affect anything I haven't deleted such as Windows OS or other files currently stored on C.
I've been searching the forums for this information and it keeps telling me my query words are too common and I'm not sure how to describe it anymore.

Yes - the free space erase is designed to get rid of files deleted previously, and no it will not affect files which are not deleted.
