erasing unused space

Hi, installed 6.0.8 today, tried to erase unused space on C driver, but i got an error message saying I need to run the program as administrator. I am using Windows 7 64 bit. Later on, I checked FAQ and ran eraser again as admin, but I got the same error message as above. Does anyone know why? Thanks.
 
Please re-read the FAQ (link below), particularly the section on running as Administrator in the topic 'Getting to know Eraser 6'. I'd guess that you didn't close the running instance of Eraser before trying to run as Administrator. That one catches us all out.

thanks for your response. I actually rebooted my laptop but still got the same error message after running eraser as admin...
 
Rebooting would not help; Eraser just starts up again in non-administrative mode. You need to close Eraser explicitly, as described in the FAQ.
