First time user - can't get it to work

I can't get ERASER to work. I want to "clean" my old computer and recycle it. I've downloaded Eraser 5.8.7. What can I do?

If you wish to erase the entire computer including the operating system DBAN is the correct tool to use. Eraser is meant for non-destructive erasures (for now, anyway.)
