Do to the fact I'm running Kaspersky Internet security v7,If I wanted to erase the free space on my HDD.This security updates about every hour or so would I have to shut this off?Thanks.

Personally I would shut down any unnecessary programs before running a free space wipe. In fact some anti virus software can cause problems when performing a free space wipe.
