Forum Posting Problem

I am finding it very difficult to make posts here.

I very frequently get this error message.

Error in posting

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1406 Data too long for column 'post_text' at row 1

INSERT INTO phpbb_posts_text (post_id, post_subject, bbcode_uid, post_text) VALUES (7099

"Then my message is quoted here."

Line : 277
File : functions_post.php

Can someone please advise me as to what to do ? I notice that I am able to preview my message correctly but this error message only appears when I try to post.

I am finding it very hard to post replies on this forum. Is anyone else having trouble ?

I am concerned that others offering help here may be put off by these problems and may leave.
 
I upgraded the forum in the last few days. All seems to be fine for me but are you still having the same problem?

I have seen that error when non ASCII characters were in messages.

I am having trouble replying to you even now.

If this works I want to let you know that I can preview my message it is just when I try to submit it where it crashes.

Im not sure but I think it could be if I use any of the punctuation symbols.

Hold shift down and then type 1234567890 and see if you can post I am unable to.

It might be apostrophes

Just to make it clear I can preview any message I type but it is only when I post that I get the error message.
 
I seem to be able to PM ok so I am guessing that it must be a filter of some sort after the submit button.

where are you posting from?

I have problems accessing this forum, but it tends to clear after a short while.

I get someting different, for instance this thread is 2 pages long if I click on "Last Post" I get a error message saying this thread has no posts yet. If I click on page 2 I get the error message this thread has no posts yet.

I have tried to post from various places, I am using a proxy now to see if that helps. I am a member of other forums and I have no problem so I am assuming there is nothing wrong with my set up but you never know !

I'm getting that same problem now too!
 
I'm also getting an error message after I post, and click on returning to the thread

No posts exist for this topic


Presumably that is because it is trying to take me to the last message - which is on that page that doesn't exist...
 
I am starting to get a new problem. When I click on a link I get the option to download the php page rather than just view the page.
