Can anyone tell me how to set up eraser to delete index.dat on reboot? Thanks for any help.

1. Click on 'File'.
2. In the 'Data' tab, click on the 'File' radio button and choose Index.dat.
3. Click on the Schedule tab, in the 'Every' field click the down arrow and select 'Reboot'.

Index.dat can only be wiped on reboot.

Also, I would recommend using a product called Spiderbite (free) for removing Index.dat.

Thanks. I still can't get it for some reason. What is the exact file name you type in for windows XP?

I also could figure out what the 'file' radio button is. I went to 'schedule new task', I clicked on 'file'. I then clicked on 'use wildcards'. Then I entered 'index.dat' and scheduled erasing for reboot. No luck.

Is there a more specific file name I need?
