i loose many spaces on drive c:

hi now i use the version eraser 5.7. I wanted to erase a folder directly but I do not erase. (c:programs folders/folder to eraser) From this day i loose maybe 40gb on the drive c. why is it? why i loose the space on the hard disc? why the eraser program dont eraser that folder? how can i recover the loose space? i have s.o. windows vista home premium. i used drefrag and disk cleannner but the problem persist. :shock:
 
Does Eraser hang during the erase? Did you run chkdsk?
