Installer does not run

Downloaded Eraser-5.8.7_setup.exe from SourceForge, but it does not run. Here's the error:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)

System is running WinXP SP3.

Right click the installer, Properties | Digital Signature. Is one there? It should be signed by me.

Thanks for the reply, Joel. I think I found the problem. The installer download trips the anti-virus engine on the firewall (ZyXEL ZyWALL USG 200), which flags it as infected:

ID:1030895 Troj.Downloader.W32.Agent.rqk

So, the firewall strips out what it sees as the infected portion of the file in transit. After that it's no big surprise that the resulting .exe doesn't run. I'll have to do some checking to see if this might be a false positive.

I do believe it should be. If the digital signature is intact the file is most definitely not infected. But if it isn't...

I was able to download a clean copy with the digital signature intact by temporarily deactivating the AV engine on the firewall. Thanks.
