Make DBAN ignore disk errors?

I have a failed hard disk that I am able to access some files from using a knoppix boot disk.

Before I send this back to the manufacturer, I need to erase what *is* there entirely - for peace of mind if nothing else (I'm thinking about 'refurb' hard disk sales here)..

Unfortunately DBAN gets to the bad part of the disk and stops. Is there any way I can make it ignore the errors that come up? If I was running any other linux distribution at this stage, /var/log/messages would be full of IDE controller/disk errors.

Thanks
