I tried to erase unused space on my C:/ but the program froze. When restarting PC (O/S = XP) it seemed to have to search the HDD for the O/S. It loaded after a while, showing a white band at the bottom of the screen, but no Restore Points are retained and in Windows Explorer, clicking C:/ results in a search for contents, although Documents always come up without a problem. Anyone know what's happening and what I can do about it? A simple reload of XP didn't help, or a check on the file system.
