It is possible though unlikely that erasing files will work. Eraser was designed with assumptions about the underlying file system and having a NAS may invalidate those assumptions. I am however certain that doing an unused space erase should clean the drive of previously deleted files unless there are weird behaviours of the NAS with regards to a nearly full drive.
