please help - drive requires elevation??

hi all
im just new to this forum and new user with eraser, i am trying to delete the free space etc on my hard drive but it wont start and it comes up with these failure messages

error - erasing the free space of a drive requires elevation
error - erasing the free space of a drive requires elevation
error - failed to erase file names from drive C:\ dont know why exactly

this is the 3 messages it give just wondering if anyone has any tips on how do do the erase when this message comes up?

sorry i only needed to read a little into the forum

Are you using Vista? I think you have to disable the UAC in the user account section of the control panel.
