Problem with booting computer up after installing Eraser 32

I install the recent eraser 32 bit. I went into the program to erase some files in the recycle bin and later got an error message that the program was not working correctly. I did a hard shut down and now I can not even get back to my windows desktop. I did a safe power up and safe power up with dos prompt but all I get is a black window with my cursor arrow. I am completely locked out.

Does anyone know how I can get back into my computer desk top. After i power up and see a window xp icon, is shifts to a black screen and stays there.

I think eraser messed up my boot up. Anyone's comment will help.

I doubt this is an Eraser problem unless you erased some windows files.

Does your hard drive make any clicking noises at all ?
