select data to erase

I am trying to format a computer completely. I typed local disk(C:) in the data to erase box but didn't seem to work what should i put in to wipe clean

I've just put a index of most frequently raised questions at the top pf the FAQ list (see link below). In that list is a link to some rather detailed guidance. The issue is that you cannot completely wipe the system drive if Eraser is running on it!
