I am using Eraser to wipe an external 2TB hard drive (of which, as far as I know only about 300GB were used space from new). I am using the Gutmann (35 passes) rule to be extra sure of a complete clenaup.
I expect the process to take a few days (it has taken two days so far and only done about 20 percent so far).
My question is ... if I stop the Eraser process before it has finished (I may need to use my laptop (where I am running the process from) in another location tomorrow) will it pickup where it left off when I restart it again in a couple of days time?
