Not for this version. In any case, it is important because tasks which are scheduled will only be started if the program is kept running. You can exit the program, but tasks which are scheduled won't run.

Personally I don't care about scheduling tasks with this program. It might be better if you make it a Windows Service if you want it to service tasks. Even if I exit the program, using windows integration to do anything will cause the icon to be re-displayed in the task bar.
I don't want to come off as unappreciative of development work, but in my opinion the newer version of eraser has become obtrusive and bloated compared to the original program.
