The Outlook data file can't be accessed. How do I repair it?

You can fix this by closing Outlook and running the Inbox Repair Tool (ScanPST.exe) that comes with Outlook. It will scan your PST/OST file and repair any errors. If that doesn’t work, you may need to create a new Outlook profile and re-add your email account. Some of the trobleshoot ideas includes -

• Restart your computer – Sometimes it’s just a temporary glitch.
• Check file location – Make sure the PST/OST file is in the right folder and hasn’t been moved or deleted.
• Run Outlook as Administrator – Right-click the Outlook icon → Run as administrator.
• Disable faulty add-ins – Open Outlook in Safe Mode (outlook.exe /safe) and see if it works.
• Update Outlook – Install the latest updates from Microsoft.
• Repair Office – Go to Control Panel → Programs → Microsoft Office → Change → Repair.
• Check permissions – Ensure you have read/write access to the Outlook data file.
