Why does v6 not work?
I have used old version for years. Now I get this error:

and all that downloading .net 3.5 ? more MS BS on my machine

I just finished putting eraser v6 on a netbook with no problem,

Am I only allowed one copy downloaded through my router?

No, in the system that has .NET 3.5 installed check that is .NET 3.5 SP1, the RTM version apparently has some code which causes Eraser to crash. You are allowed an unlimited number of copies. If that doesn't help, see http://bbs.heidi.ie/viewtopic.php?f=14&p=16110#p16110 for some suggestions on how to fix the problem.

Yes I have .net 3.5 SP1 ... I DID NOT WANT IT, it got downloaded and installed with Eraser v6 . That is what sucks.

Now I have gone back to Eraser 5.8.8. It seems like Eraser 6 is NOT stable and needs to be fixed.

The only feature I liked about 6 was that I could continue to work while it erased in the background. Oh well. Guess I'll just be more patient and wait like I always have done.
