I do use a USB drive to store data on it. My question: Do I also have to erase files several times so that they cannot be undelete or is there no need, since it is an external USB drive?

Thank you for your response.

If I understand correctly USB drives are still magnatic, they basicaly use USB for transfering the data , instead of a cable, and use magnetics for storage.

So the answer is yes, I would use muti-passess on a USB drive.

DEFINTELY use eraser. it's not just for HD's. data can easily be recovered off memory cards, floppys, CD/DVD's. a USB thumb drive is just flash memory that connects via USB. they are essentially the samething as memory cards.

US Drives

Many thanks for the responses.

That was very helpful.
