VMware Workstation: Eraser in Windows XP GuestOS

Hello.

I intend to erase files on an external USB harddisk. Since I don't have a native Windows maschine, but only a WXP based GuestOS
running under VMware Workstaion 7.1.3 (HostOS=Ubuntu 10.04), I am contemplating if that's a good idea...

Are there any known concerns/problems to use Eraser in such a virtualized environment?

I have half a recollection that Joel indicated that this should work. But the drives or partitions Eraser deals with will need to be formatted as NTFS or FAT; Eraser does not handle Linux partition types (Ext2, Ext3, Reiser etc.)
