I got a question when it comes down to the algorithm that is used when deleting files. So i got eraser installed on my windows computer and I create a new task and select a file. how do i know which algorithm is used to delete the file? or how do i select which algorithm to use?

You can set the algorithm by going to Edit > Preferences > Erasing (Ctrl+E) and changing the default settings there. Files are used for file erasures, Unused Disk Space is for unused space aka free space erasures.
