Why is Eraser trying to access the internet?

The last two days every time I boot up, my firewall informs me that Eraser is trying to access the internet, why?
I see no mention of this in the help file, A/V doesn't find any threats, so why would something that's supposed to be about privacy is suddenly trying to talk to someone/thing I don't know & probably don't want to know?

Which firewall are you using? It may be generating spurious messages.

Eraser will try to upload crash logs to the developers on startup but asks you for permission first. To stop this happening, navigate to the Appdata\Local\Eraser 6\Crash Logs folder in your User folder and delete (or erase) all its contents

Ah, Commodo. Eraser is by no means the only application that has fallen foul of this particular piece of software.
