Windows 7 64 Bit: "Completed with Errors"

Hello!

I am new to Eraser, and I just downloaded 6.0.8.2273 last week. As indicated, I am using Windows 7 with 64 Bit (a Compaq laptop). When I tried to clean up unused disk space, I immediately got the message saying "Completed with errors". I found a post the other day where someone had the same problem, and DavidHB said to select "Run as administrator" and then perform the function. I did this and still got the same message (numerous times). :-(

I searched for that same thread to see if I could find something else to try but couldn't find it. DavidHB or Joel, is there another fix?

I'm not the most techie person out there, but I've learned a lot recently from friends & from radio shows like Kim Komando & Into Tomorrow, and I'm HUGE fan of free opensource software! Thanks Joel!

I forgot to mention that the Task Log says:
"The program does not have the required permissions to erase the unused space on disk. Run the program as an administrator and retry the operation."
Done that, but alas to no avail.

It's all in the FAQ ... :)

Please read the FAQ post called 'Getting to know Eraser 6', and follow the exact steps given there for running Eraser as Administrator.

Thanks David! I realized when I went to that post that it was the same one I had found before, but I had forgotten one step, and that was to:
"first close the running instance of Eraser by right-clicking on the small Eraser icon in the System Tray at the right hand end of the Taskbar and selecting Exit Eraser.".

I did that and it worked!!! :-)

Thanks for the tip!
