Accidental important file deletion?

I downloaded and used Eraser, and since then I have had to bypass an error message every time I power on my laptop. It is on a black screen with white text, and mentions "TURBODSK 2.1" and how no (QDMA or ULTRA QDMA?) controllers are loaded. I have limited knowledge of computers and don't mean to fault the Eraser software but it is awfully coincidental. Could someone please provide any insight as to how I can fix this? I reinstalled Vista, which didn't help. Thank you very much.

You're booting from some sort of bootable CD or USB key which is preventing Windows from starting; or, alternatively, you got some driver loaded which doesn't seem to belong to a stock Windows Vista install.
