I work for an asset management company, and we currently use DBAN to erase SCSI and IDE drives and it works great for us, however we also get Sun machines on a regular basis that need to have drives wiped. I seem to be able to only wipe one drive at a time using the Solaris CD. I have a Sun Enterprise 3500 machine that can accept up to 8 Fiber Channel drives in its own chassis. I would love to be able to use DBAN on this machine, but I see that it has not been released yet. Has anyone had any luck in compiling DBAN from source on Solaris or Linux, or is there a Sparc release planned in the future? The system uses an Ultrasparc CPU. Any help would be appreciated.
