Eraser leaves empty folders in root directories

Each time it runs it creates temporary folders but leaves behind folders similar to abcdefg.abcd in the root directory of every partition it works on. Is this a bug, undocumented feature, or something I am doing wrong at this end. Using WXP Pro sp2 with p4 processor and intel board.

Eraser clears unused disk space, in part, by creating random-titled files. Normally, it deletes those files. I've never noticed what you're seeing, but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be doing that.

I think I would run scandisk as a first step to make sure the filesystem isn't corrupt.
