Erasing free space on your disc question?

Let's say you have a 300GB drive with 250GB of free space and you eraser the free space.

Will this free space still show up as free space on the disc after the erase?

Thanks.

Yes.

Eraser works by creating temporary files to overwrite any data on the free space and and the end of this process the temporary files are deleted, thus recovering the space.

During the process of wiping free space, the available free space will reduce until it is all over written with these temporary files. You may get a warning that your computer is low on disk space, but this will then be resolved by the eraser program deleting these temporary files.
