HD Filling Question

Hi all,

I am new to using Eraser so I apologise if my question sounds silly/demented.

I understand that Eraser writes loads of junk data to overwrite previously held data on the HD. I have started a 7 pass of Eraser on my HD and the drive seems to be filling up. I had 120 gig when I started the pass and now I have only 10 gig. Is this normal? I thought this writing of junk data would happen in the background, so to speak. How do I free up this space again? Will it become available again when the pass finishes?

Yep, it proceeds in the background. But filling the disk is part of the process. Space will be freed later.
